Complete knowledge of the future would be the greatest curse imaginable, but the occasional glimpse can often prove quite beneficial.

Overview Backgrounds Exploring

The name Ereglasti is an umbrella term that encompasses those who follow teachings and lifestyles of the Ereglast Order, dating back to the Age of Dragons where it grew from within the Kazai Empire. Over the years, the Ereglasti have adopted peaceful ideals and promote acumen and foresight over the older principles that accomplished its goals through force alone. Ereglasti can be found all over Kavan, most commonly at the holy sites they protect but also in the many libraries and museums of large settlements.

Ereglasti culture is closely related to the sacred purpose of the Order. Wisdom is valued above all else and the most accomplished scholars are revered and are put in charge of the more important holy sites. Their fascination with enlightenment gave birth to an obsession with purity over the ages, and Ereglasti appear repressed when compared to other cultures in their pursuit of it. Many have adopted vegetarianism to appear more conscientious and to avoid taboos surrounding meat consumption. Other taboos cover everything from public affection to gambling. Even attire can fall under scrutiny when within the borders of Raystone, though exceptions are made for travelers who have not grown up accustomed to Ereglasti culture.

However, criminals are seldom found among the Ereglasti and equality exists between all races and genders. The Order accepts anyone willing to join them with open arms. The only social ill documented by scholars (both Ereglasti and otherwise) is an above average number of mental illness cases. Whether this is caused by the culture, exposure to magical artifacts, or the genetic disposition of Kazan humans is unknown.
